DescriptionDuties:
Operational Oversight:
- Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure store is clean, organized, and meets company standards.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, ordering, and merchandising.
Team Management:
- Recruit, hire, and train store staff, ensuring they meet performance standards.
- Schedule and manage employee shifts to ensure optimal staffing.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development.
Sales and Customer Service:
- Drive sales through effective merchandising, promotions, and customer service strategies.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly and professionally.
- Analyze sales reports and trends to identify opportunities for increasing sales and profitability.
Marketing and Promotions:
- Implement marketing and promotional activities to attract customers and boost sales.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure in-store promotions align with brand strategy.
- Track the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.
Customer Experience:
- Develop and maintain high standards of customer service.
- Foster a positive shopping environment through effective team leadership and customer engagement.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Maintain health and safety standards within the store and address any hazards promptly.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to store policies and procedures.
Inventory Control:
- Monitor and manage stock levels, including receiving shipments and conducting stock takes.
- Ensure accurate inventory records and minimize stock loss through effective security measures.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular reports on store performance, including sales, expenses, and customer feedback.
- Analyze sales data and trends to make informed decisions on inventory, staffing, and promotions.
Community Engagement:
- Represent the store in the local community through events and promotions.
- Build relationships with local businesses and organizations to enhance store visibility and reputation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Grade 12 is essential. A tertiary qualification in Management, Finance, or Commerce is advantageous.
Experience:
- Retail Experience: At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within the retail sector.
Skills Required:
- Selling Skills: Proven ability to drive sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial skills and understanding of retail financial processes.
- Industrial Relations Knowledge: Familiar with industrial relations practices.
- Coaching Skills: Basic ability to coach and develop team members.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
