Salary: Up to $70K

Key Responsibilities

  • Review bills provided by our billing team to ensure they comply with the requirements/guidelines set out by our client
  • Organize any potential billing appeals using standard precedents, and if necessary, work with internal counsel to receive legal advise on how to proceed with such appeals
  • Post bills on our clients e-billing platform
  • Communicate with clerks and lawyers to ensure the relevant information is properly coded with proper descriptions in dockets

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Legal Assistant/Law Clerk Diploma
  • 2+ years of Insurance Defence Law experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, stellar organization skills, accurate and quality work are an ideal fit for this position
  • Attention to detail and consistency in approach to work
  • Prior docketing experience and e-billing experience a definite asset
  • Working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and court procedures
  • Ability to manage large volume of work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Team-player attitude
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite • Ability to multi-task
