Whether you have a passion for total fund strategy and how we can achieve the best possible returns or want to learn about a particular asset class, this opportunity presents a unique combination of investment experiences.

We are looking for individuals who are intellectually curious, adaptable, and responsible, with a desire to enhance their finance, data, programming, and communications skills. At AIMCo, you'll be part of a collaborative environment where you'll learn from the best and grow both personally and professionally.

Daily tasks and projects will differ from team to team but overall, the New Grad Analyst can expect to be involved in:

  • Learning about capital markets, investment strategies and sectors/companies of interest
  • Developing investment recommendations through modelling intrinsic valuations, identifying relative mispricing, and assessing macro trends and qualitative characteristics
  • Participating in the identification and evaluation of new investment opportunities, including direct investments and funds
  • Conducting research and analysis on a broad array of industries, sectors, funds, or other opportunities identified by the team
  • Participating in several ad-hoc projects to gain working knowledge of AIMCo’s assets
  • Assisting with creating PowerPoint presentations
  • Helping to maintain existing models and spreadsheets and to develop new models

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Completion of undergraduate studies in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field by the program start date (May 2025)
  • Knowledge of investments, economics, and asset management is an asset
  • Experience or exposure into one or more of the areas: Actuarial studies, CFA candidacy, student leadership experience, advanced Excel/Power BI/data and analytics visualization is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas), Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and Power BI
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of one or more programming languages - Python, SQL, VBA (post-secondary course work is valid)
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated and proactive. The ideal candidate should be eager to learn, able to take initiative, and willing to go the extra mile to deliver results.
  • Thrives under pressure and enjoys contributing to team goals and collaborating
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in others

Success Measures

Success at the end of your 18-month term will be determined by the undertaking and completion of specified daily tasks while collaborating alongside the team, sharing your ideas, contributing to several ongoing projects, and assisting the department with implementing and improving process efficiencies. There is potential for extension and/or full-time employment once rotation is complete.

Next Steps

We are excited to meet you. Please submit your resume or CV to be considered for this opportunity. Applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis and we will be in touch with any questions.

Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening, which includes a credit bureau and a criminal record investigation, the results of which must be acceptable to AIMCo. #J-18808-Ljbffr
