The Learning and Development Specialist reports directly to the VP, Learning & Development, and supports the design, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of key talent development and talent leadership programs to enhance the capabilities of all team members working for FGF USA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee internal and external learning programs for team members, including the development and production of training materials, maintaining accurate and comprehensive training records in our HRIS, and managing logistics such as arranging venues and coordinating equipment.
  • Effectively communicate relevant training information and updates to team members.
  • Provide Talent & Learning advisory and thought leadership, supporting stakeholders in understanding new and innovative approaches to meet business performance needs.
  • Apply creative thinking and change management principles to develop innovative solutions to problems.
  • Define learning outcomes through consultation with subject matter experts for needs assessment, recommending a training approach, and identifying appropriate content that helps achieve performance learning outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve learning engagement and experience, monitor and research best practices, identify emerging trends, and make recommendations on new technology and approaches.
  • Compile needs analysis, create, curate, and recommend digital, physical, and experiential learning experiences in various formats (e.g., instructor-led and e-learning, including micro-learning, mobile learning, gamification, whiteboard animations, flipbooks, interactive infographics, printable job aids, webinars, and interactive videos).
  • Conduct post-implementation evaluations to continually enhance course content, reinforcing and sustaining learned and desired skills/knowledge.
  • Evaluate and demonstrate the learning and business impact of learning experiences by documenting time spent, insights, lessons learned, and recommending improved approaches, materials, software, and process improvements.
  • Project manage all deliverables independently, maintaining information flow to internal clients through various communication channels to maintain project timelines, including approvals and revisions.
  • Develop and maintain a strong interpersonal network, as a culture champion of the T&D team.

Required Experience:

  • Post-secondary education, or relevant combination of education and experience, in Adult Education or Training and Development.
  • 2-5 years of experience in human resources, with experience in learning and development.
  • Proven track record of interacting with, influencing, and gaining credibility at all levels of team members and leaders.
  • Proven knowledge and application of adult learning principles and instructional principles and/or methodologies.
  • Skillful in communicating with and influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
  • Driven to take initiative, coordinate multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a large, complex, and ever-changing organization.
  • Experience with Articulate Storyline (or other e-learning software) is an asset.
  • Change Management Certification is an asset.
  • Intermediate with Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications.
  • Systems and Design thinking is an asset.
