Overview:
The SAP Modernization Program (SAP MP) is a division of the Department of Cyber Security and Digital Services (CSDS) and is responsible for modernizing the SAP systems for its client organizations. This is a multi-year, multi-project program with three phases: the Financial & Logistical Systems (FLS), People and Loans Services (PLS), and Time and Payroll Services (TPS). The modernization of the SAP systems involves enabling significant business transformation within the client organizations, with a large focus on business process change, implementing new SAP applications and migrating the SAP applications to the cloud. The SAP MP is currently working in the Financial & Logistical Systems (FLS) phase of the Project which will result in the implementation of a single instance of S/4Hana environment for both the financial and logistical systems for Nova Scotia Health/IWK, the Nova Scotia Regional Centres of Education (NSRCEs)/Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (CSAP) and the Province. We are now in the Realize Build portion of the Finance and Logistics Services Project focusing on implementing FI, CO, EAM (AM & PM), P2P (Procurement, IM, Logistics and Ariba Buying), FM and PS.
The Business Analyst selected via this SOW will work within a multi-disciplinary team to advance operational readiness of the client sectors (Health, Education and the Province).

What you will be doing:
The Business Analyst (the Consultant) selected via this SOW will be responsible for delivering services as herein defined. The primary scope of work required from the Consultant will be as follows:

  • contribute to the design and development of the business processes required to execute cutover to the future solution

  • contribute to the design and development of business processes required to operate in the future state where some business functionality will be supported in the legacy system and other functionality will be supported in S/4HANA (“dual system processes”).

  • The Consultant will work closely with the business resources, the SAP MP Program Management Office, SAP Service Management, and client stakeholders

In support of this Project, the Consultant is responsible for the following activities:

  • Process Model revisions; and or creation of new S/4 HANA Process Models.

  • Creation or revision of relevant legacy system Process Models.

  • Analyzes as-is processes (if required) and interfaces to discover process gaps, identify functional interdependencies, derive improvement potentials, and frame any problems.

  • Participate in Business Process Transformation (BPT) team meetings and other team meetings as required.

  • Support Business Leads in Change Control Board documentation.

  • Supports the GNS Business Leads and Specialists to ensure Project documentation is updated to support Sustainment post Go-Live.

  • Keeps abreast of SAP trends and innovations for their respective process areas or functional areas that might impact deployment.

What you must have:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in project delivery and/or a minimum 5 years of experience as a business analyst.

  • Experience working in an agile IT project environment.

  • Good knowledge of Business Process Modelling Notation and standards.

  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office suite of products Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint

Nice to have:

  • SAP project delivery 

  • S/4HANA certifications in one or more Functional Areas and/or technologies

  • SAP Architectural experience

  • Knowledge of integration points in the SAP ecosystem

  • Good knowledge of the difference between ECC to S/4 HANA system process modelling

  • Knowledge of 3 or more of the following SAP modules (Finance, Funds Management, Procurement/Ariba, Inventory Management, Plant Maintenance/Enterprise Asset management, GRC.)

  • Knowledge of process management in Solution Manager

  • Knowledge and/or experience in the following methodologies: project management, scrum, lean six sigma, change management (PROSCI).
