POSITION SUMMARY

This unionized position works with various types of metal and uses a variety of welding techniques to fabricate coach components and frames.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Responsible for welding various types of metals using a variety of welding techniques to fabricate coach components and frames using MIG, TIG and STICK welding techniques and strict quality guidelines.
  • Grind and solder coach components.
  • Responsible for following all work instructions and interpreting welding specifications, blueprints, and/or drawings.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Canadian Welding Bureau certification (CWB ticket) an asset.
  • Read and understand work instructions.
  • Interpret blueprints or drawings.
  • Previous manufacturing experience considered an asset.
  • Experience working with solvents and pretreatment chemicals an asset.
  • Post-secondary training with experience operating air plasma and oxy-acetylene equipment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of shop floor safety.
  • Experience with aluminum welding an asset.
  • Need to pass MCI Weld Test.
