Welding Associate Job Description

MCI, a leading manufacturer of motor coaches, is seeking a skilled Welding Associate to join their team. As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for fabricating coach components and frames using various welding techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weld various types of metals using MIG, TIG, and STICK welding techniques to fabricate coach components and frames.
  • Grind and solder coach components to ensure high-quality finishes.
  • Follow all work instructions and interpret welding specifications, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Canadian Welding Bureau certification (CWB ticket) is an asset.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions.
  • Interpretation of blueprints or drawings.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with solvents and pretreatment chemicals is an asset.
  • Post-secondary training with experience operating air plasma and oxy-acetylene equipment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of shop floor safety.
  • Experience with aluminum welding is an asset.
  • Must pass MCI Weld Test.
