THE MEXICAN CORNER IS HIRING FOR AN ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

The AGM works closely with the General Manager and Head Chef to create memorable guest experiences.

DUTIES:
Liquor & Beverage Program
– Help ensure proper levels of all spirits and food supplies for the bar – Co-ordinate with GM and Head Bartender

Staff Scheduling
– Assist Completing Payroll spreadsheet
– Follow all Mexican Corner human resource practices
– Responsible for daily labour cost

Stock Levels
– Ensure proper linen levels are maintained on a weekly basis
– Ensure proper levels are maintained for smallwares, TOGO packaging, cash out supplies.
– Conduct monthly inventory of wares and track usage.

Management/Ongoing
– Train, supervise, coach as required
– Ensure opening/closing & cleaning duties are completed consistently and as required.
– Ensure compliance with Foodsafe through temperature checks and stock rotation
– Provide direct service to guests as needed, including, but not limited to, greeting & serving guests bussing tables, and general clerical/cashier duties
– Contribute at monthly management meetings in regards to: equipment, efficiencies, cost of goods, labour costs

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
– Minimum 2-3 year experience as a manager or supervisor in a high volume F&B environment
– Knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages
– Strong organization and planning skills
– Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Publisher)
– Previous POS understanding
– Proven ability in managing time is critical; must be able to plan and execute effectively and efficiently
– Proven track record as a hands on leader with great communication skills
– Able to remain calm under stressful situations
– Knowledge of food service techniques and cost controls
– Passion for people and food

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
– Serving it Right Certificate required
– FoodSafe Level 1 an asset
– Legally able to work in Canada
– Accommodation for season
– Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8-10 hours in length
– Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
