Job Summary:

The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational functions of a collection of retail stores, or stores within a specific geographical location. This role involves managing store management in achieving maximum profitability and productivity, implementing and maintaining company policies, and conducting recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, and appraisals of store management positions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee all store operations in assigned area on a daily basis, ensuring seamless execution of business strategies.
  2. Establish store level expectations and guidelines, promoting a culture of excellence and customer satisfaction.
  3. Assist store managers in evaluating sales trends and create methods for sales growth, driving revenue and market share.
  4. Monitor inventory control and meet inventory goals, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing waste.
  5. Communicate effectively with Regional Managers, providing regular updates on store performance and operational challenges.
  6. Recruit, hire, train, and maintain a high-performing core staff, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  7. Manage operational budget, striving to achieve and exceed store contribution budget, and make data-driven decisions to drive business growth.
  8. Remain current on new industry products and trends, demonstrating expertise and knowledge of products to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
  9. Conduct performance appraisals and coach staff on a regular basis, providing constructive feedback and development opportunities.
  10. Enforce and train staff on loss prevention policies and techniques, ensuring a secure and safe working environment.
  11. Create a rewarding environment, generating a team atmosphere that promotes collaboration and mutual respect.
  12. Conduct weekly manager meetings to reinforce area, regional, and company goals, ensuring alignment and accountability.
  13. Oversee buyer activity for the region, ensuring optimal purchasing decisions and inventory management.
  14. Set goals for all team members, providing clear expectations and objectives to drive performance and achievement.
  15. Reward and recognize employees, acknowledging outstanding performance and contributions to the team.
  16. Approve all expenditures, ensuring fiscal responsibility and adherence to company policies.
  17. Monitor profit margins and react as needed, making adjustments to drive business growth and profitability.
