The Toronto branch of GardaWorld is currently hiring a Human Resources Advisor for our Security Services business line. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and working collaboratively with the human resources team, the successful candidate will provide advice and expertise in labor relations support and backup assistance on training and development.

Your Duties will include:

As a Human Resources Advisor, your responsibilities will involve:

  1. Implementing and interpreting the collective agreement
  2. Advising on all employment and labor relations policies, agreements, and issues
  3. Supporting management on matters relating to the Collective Agreement including seniority, job postings, and disciplines
  4. Conducting research to assist with the design and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  5. Conducting grievance resolution meetings and grievance arbitrations
  6. Representing the Company in a variety of joint labor committees
  7. Performing related duties in support of the day-to-day work
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Post graduate education with major coursework in Labor Relations or Human Resources, or a related area; or any equivalent combination of experience
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in working with collective agreements
  • Strong skills in communicating, analytical thinking, planning, and organizing
  • A strong understanding of labor relations, policies and procedures, employment legislation (work experience with Federal and Provincial legislations is ideal), and collective agreements
  • Strong teamwork and partnership orientation
