What will you be doing?

The Senior Property Insurance Specialist I is primarily responsible for processing a variety of personal lines policies and intricate insurance contracts related to residential homes and personal belongings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This position processes a variety of personal lines policies and intricate insurance contracts related to residential homes and personal belongings.
  • Processes personal lines policies and contracts often including items such as residential and recreational property, boats and other personal pleasure craft, and jewelry.
  • Identifies client needs and provides information on basic insurance products such as risk coverage, benefits and other policy features best suited to meet the client's needs; works with clients to manage and reduce their risk.
  • Recommends and implements a client’s insurance coverage, premiums and collects payment; promotes Brio Insurance products and services.
  • Responds to emergencies and assists clients with their claims.
  • Writes new policies with multiple locations and boats independently.
  • Maintain a Personal Lines book in excess of $600K in premium (subject to Manager discretion).
  • Assist with internal training of new staff and provide supervision when required.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of and adhere to organizational policies and procedures on risk management, confidentiality, security and fraud prevention.

What do you need?

  • Working towards or holding Level 3 Brokers Insurance license
  • Understands specifics about coverage limitations to; vacant dwellings, seasonal, rentals, Course of Construction and mobile homes etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize using sound judgment to make timely and effective decisions
  • Knowledge of Brio Insurance products and services
  • Ability to follow standardized policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of risk management within the insurance industry
  • Proficient computer skills
