Server Analyst – Intermediate (IT Security Administration)

Job Location: Edmonton, AB

Description:

Responsible for proactively maintaining and improving the server core infrastructure functionality and working within existing procedures and guidelines to meet client business requirements.

  1. Perform problem diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution.
  2. Perform hardware and OS installations, migrations, and/or upgrades.
  3. Plan for software and hardware upgrades and/or migrations.
  4. Develop and maintain documentation.
  5. Maintain operating systems and associated infrastructure software.
  6. Develop system-related procedures.
  7. Provide cross-training and knowledge transfer to other server team members on relevant aspects of hardware and software support.

ADDITIONAL DELIVERY DETAILS TO BE SHARED WITH POTENTIAL CANDIDATES:

  1. Adhere to existing GoA established policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and practices.
  2. User account (ID) creations, maintenance, and deletions for access to network resources.
  3. Maintenance of Exchange email resources such as mailboxes, distribution groups, Global Address List updates, and related services.
  4. Implement and maintain user security and folder permissions.
  5. Provide adhoc reporting of same.
  6. Manage security group membership to provide access to files and folders for network applications and shared data.
  7. File and folder moves, restructuring, and permission setting.
  8. Respond and resolve customer incidents/service requests pertaining to Domain and Exchange administration.
  9. Some project work as required.
  10. Development and modification of domain and exchange administration documentation, processes, and guidelines.
  11. Assist in active directory cleanup as necessary.
