Overview: This role provides the opportunity to work with the Finance and Sales leadership teams to develop the framework and toolset required to manage the most critical aspects of profitability as it relates to our customers and categories. In addition, this role will offer the opportunity to collaborate with the sales management teams in Canada and the US to drive profitable sales and promotional strategies.

This is a high impact role which entails a high degree of collaboration with cross-functional teams (finance and procurement in particular) and a high degree of visibility with key members of the Trophy leadership team.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Achieving margin expectations for the commercial division.
  • Development of a centralized database to house all pricing related historical information, including contracts, conditions, trade spend programs, and the impact of various changes over time.
  • Quarterbacking price change processes to ensure completion and execution within agreed timelines.
  • Overseeing pricing integrity amongst customers.
  • Building the reporting and analytical toolset required to effectively manage customer and category profitability, including but not limited to customer and category P&Ls, price change models, and trade spend reporting.
  • Providing actionable insights and recommendations to the VP Sales and commercial team with the sole aim of improving corporate margin.
  • Identifying trends and potential margin opportunities across customers and categories.
  • Partnering with finance to develop models aimed at managing profitability in a strategic manner.
  • Utilizing and maintaining PowerBI reports to arm management with tools and trends on customer performance.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of our trade programs and working with the commercial team to identify opportunities to maximize the ROI of the programs.
  • Oversee trade spend analyst duties.
  • Ensuring all cost centers are within budget or strategies put in place to optimize including noncompliance, freight, travel, trade, demo funds, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, and Educational Requirements:

  • University degree in Business Administration and/or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a finance and business professional
  • Prior experience with an ERP environment and related reporting tools
  • Highly advanced excel and financial modelling skills
  • Understanding of Consumer-Packaged Goods Sales/Manufacturing business model
