Position Title: Accounting Analyst, Investments Reports To: Director Investment Finance Department: Investment Technology and Operations Term: Permanent Full-Time

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

The Opportunity: Equitable is growing We are looking for an Accounting Analyst to join our Investments team

The Accounting Analyst supports financial and accounting business initiatives in addition to day-to-day key accountabilities. This role will add value through financial initiatives and insights, and by providing timely business information based on relevant and reliable financial data.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and deliver timely, accurate, relevant and concise financial information
  • Deliver expense and budgeting information to appropriate stakeholders
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Accounting and Controls
  • Preparation of OSFI schedules and other surveys
  • Assistance with Internal and External Audits
  • Back-up for Financial Analyst, Investments and Senior Financial Analyst in various tasks in times when there is short staff or on a rotational basis

  • Post-secondary education with emphasis on accounting and business administration
  • Demonstrated skill with general accounting concepts
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of related systems and processes
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions and judgement calls.
