The Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI) works through wide-ranging partnerships and initiatives to deliver quality programs and services that promote and support economic development, diversification and prosperity in the interest of Northwest Territories residents – their businesses and communities.
Job InformationThe Regional Senior Corporate Services Officer is responsible for overseeing financial and administrative functions within the Department of Industry, Tourism, and Investment (ITI) in the region. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Operations and receiving day-to-day guidance from the Regional Superintendent, this role is crucial in providing financial advice, managing budget preparation and control, and ensuring adherence to GNWT policies and regulations. This position involves a range of duties including budget analysis, financial reporting, and procurement oversight, as well as acting as a liaison with Financial and Employee Shared Services.
To excel in this role, you must possess a strong understanding of financial management standards, such as those set by the Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB), and be familiar with GNWT financial systems, policies, and relevant legislation. Essential skills would include analytical abilities for interpreting financial data, effective communication for stakeholder interactions, and proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office.
Typically, the combination of knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained by the completion of a diploma in finance or business with 5 years of related progressive experience in finance and accounting.
