Are you an expert in Compensation & Benefits, and want to work for a company that values the employee experience?

We are looking for a knowledgeable and people-focused Manager, Compensation & Benefits for our Head Office which is located in Calgary to oversee the compensation and benefits functions across Long View. You will lead a team of Compensation Advisors, as well as run, evaluate, and make recommendations on our Compensation and Benefits programs.

A Day in the Life:
  • Support our goal of being the Most Loved Employer by ensuring we are rewarding our employees for all of the work they do
  • Oversee the management of all Compensation and Benefits programs for Long View, which includes Canadian & US Offices at this point
  • Evaluate the success of our programs, and research and recommend alternatives to senior leadership
  • Keep knowledge current of external market data and trends and use this information to influence our compensation and benefits strategy
  • Ensure our programs comply with current legislation, including provincial and state pay equity bills
  • Manage and consult with external partners, such as benefits vendors and compensation survey providers
  • Provide expert insights and solutions for compensation challenges
  • Consult with various business stakeholders including the wider People Services team and Business Leaders to offer a high quality level of support and service related to Compensation and Benefits, including managing escalations as needed
  • Lead and mentor a team of compensation advisors to be effective in managing the full cycle of compensation analysis and administration including the below:
  • Managing and administering the Annual Compensation Review process
  • Working with the People Services team and business leaders to develop compensation plans in offers for new hires, internal promotions, and internal transfers
  • Providing ongoing consultation and subject matter expertise to the People Services team and business on compensation programs and practices
  • Working closely with the finance team to ensure accuracy of incentives
  • Supporting the design of incentive programs
  • Providing compensation analysis, research, and recommendations
  • Providing analytical support and compensation reporting
  • Completing job evaluation and classification for new roles to the organization
  • Monitoring external market trends through networking and participation in salary surveys
  • Providing compensation training and education for internal clients
  • Ensuring quality and integrity of all compensation data
  • Identifying and investigating opportunities for process and technology improvements
  • Developing communication and training materials to increase the understanding of compensation initiatives
What You Bring:
  • 10+ years’ of experience working directly in Compensation
  • Experience overseeing both Compensation and Benefits programs
  • Strong understanding of industry best practices in the Compensation and Benefits areas in North America
  • Leadership skills with the ability to build and maintain a high-functioning team
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
What Makes You Extra Awesome:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related business specialization is an asset
  • Industry certifications relevant to Compensation and/or Benefits are an asset such as a CCP designation
