We are looking to bring on a Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our growing team.

About the Position:

In this crucial role, you will apply your solid experience in Accounts Receivable & Collections to complete the following:

  • Open and accurately maintain client accounts while managing all Accounts Receivable;
  • Create and issue daily sales invoices from the sales orders including distribution, filing, and follow-up with customers as required;
  • Issue credit notes for returns/discounts after checking the validity;
  • Process daily customer deposits including credit card and EFT payments; entering into NetSuite in a timely manner;
  • Reconcile transactions to bank accounts;
  • Manage all aspects of collections including sending out customer statements and follow-up with customers on payments due while maintaining strong customer relations;
  • Maintain the accuracy of customer accounts to ensure accurate company financial statement reporting;
  • Ensure deadlines are met with closing processes for the month, quarter and year-end tasks;
  • Visiting bank to deposit checks received from customers;
  • Attend weekly management meetings to communicate AR & Collections updates;
  • Work with Accounting and Accounts Payable to ensure that books are up-to-date and accurate;
  • Work with Sales team to ensure accurate and timely entry of various credits and discounts into system
  • Conduct credit checks on new potential customers
  • Any other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager as required.

Qualifications Required:

  • University degree or College diploma in a relevant field; open to recent graduates;
  • 1-3years of Accounts Receivable and Collections experience with proven ability to manage all AR functions;
  • Working experience with an ERP system (preferably NetSuite) to ensure customer payment and credit memos are accurately applied;
  • Proven resourcefulness to follow-up on past-due invoices, recommend solutions for payment and ensure collections;
  • Experience dealing with national accounts is desired, but not mandatory;
  • Excellent and professional communication skills both verbal and written by phone and email to discuss outstanding payments due and to maintain strong customer relations;
  • A strategic thinker with strong reconciliation capabilities and an innate ability with numbers and problem solving;
  • Strong data entry skills with the ability to transcribe large amounts of data accurately and quickly;
  • Extremely high attention to detail with outstanding organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently and to prioritize multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to work with internal departments to drive company success.
