Key Responsibilities:

  1. Enter supplier invoices into the accounting software, review for accuracy against purchase orders and approvals, and file once processed.
  2. Prepare financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts.
  3. Prepare and issue checks for payroll, utility bills, taxes, and other expenses.
  4. Prepare and examine financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  5. Prepare books for month-end and year-end.
  6. Manage accounts payable and receivable.
  7. File and pay tax returns such as GST, PST, Employer Health Tax, and Income Tax Installments.
  8. Create daily and monthly journal entries and accruals including exporting and uploading.
  9. Enter sales and purchase orders as needed.
  10. Perform errands as needed to support the office and financial operations.
  11. Handle office stocking duties, including ordering and maintaining office supplies.
  12. Perform general office tasks on an as-needed basis.

Position Requirements:

  1. Completion of secondary school.
  2. Diploma or certificate in finance, accounting, or business administration, or a combination of relevant courses and at least two years of related experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
  3. Office Experience: 2 years minimum (preferred).
  4. Proven experience with the PROSHOP ERP system an asset.

Your Skills:

  1. Solid understanding of accounting principles.
  2. Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  3. Data entry skills.
  4. Hands-on experience in operating Sage Simply Accounting.
  5. High customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
  6. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
