Job Description:

Department Overview

The TDBG Global AML Department (GAML) is responsible for Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF), Sanctions and Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption (ABAC) regulatory compliance and prudential risk management across the TD footprint. We act as proactive and trusted advisors to TD Business Lines, while supporting a consistent, adaptable and effective culture across the organization, to make sure AML, ATF, Sanctions and ABAC program risks are appropriately identified and mitigated. We direct the design, content and enterprise-wide implementation of TD's AML Program. The AML, Business Management and Training team is part of the AML Program Governance pillar which represents a dynamic and global centre of excellence within the Global Anti-Money Laundering (GAML) function for business management and training. The business management pillar of the team provide a consolidated view and process for all operations in GAML (except FIU). The processes will support the daily operations of TD's AML Program and comply with regulatory requirements wherever TD operates. This team works with GAML, TD and external partners in the delivery of its mandate. Roles in this team also have a mandate to support the GAML teams with appropriate internal training and guidance on existing and new regulation as needed.

Job Description:

The Global Anti-Money Laundering (GAML) department at TD is accountable for establishing TD's Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) programs to ensure compliance with applicable AML/ATF regulatory requirements in jurisdictions where TD operates.

The Business Management team is a new function within GAML and focuses on AML/ATF budgets, FTE forecasting, onboarding, and communications. Responsibilities in a typical day may include liaising with internal and external stakeholders, conducting research and preparing reports.

This role will report to the Associate Vice President, AML Business Management and Training.

Job Accountabilities:

The Senior Manager, FCRM Business Management Finance will:

  • Be responsible for developing and delivering financial strategy, information and management support including management reporting, forecasting and planning, performance measurement and strategic business analysis.
  • Oversee the consolidation, reporting and analysis for monthly/quarterly operating results, planning & forecasting and productivity reporting
  • Lead the development and review of presentation materials intended to communicate business results for Executives
  • Present insightful and relevant commentary to Senior Management on business results, Forecast and Plan that provide a reasonable view of the future for the business to improve decision making. Summarize large amounts of information into meaningful key messages.
  • Proactively identify business opportunities warranting further review and analysis; identify and assist business in solving any challenges
  • Develop and maintain solid and effective working relationship with Business Partners, Segment Finance, Enterprise Strategy & Decision Support, Project delivery teams and other stakeholders
  • Manage ad hoc requests and participate in special projects/initiatives
  • Provide thought leadership and recommendations for identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Act as a knowledge leader for each area's finances and performance. Create and deliver ad-hoc analyses, special projects/reports and training as required to aid partner
  • Possess a high level of integrity in managing matters that are both sensitive and highly confidential in nature and provides decision support and insight to senior leaders

Job Requirements:

This position requires someone with excellent people leadership, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to recognize issues and take practical corrective action. Proven skills in handling multiple tasks and working within specified timelines are required. The candidate must possess excellent business acumen and be able to develop positive working relationships with the areas supported.

Specific requirements include:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for the AML portfolio; identify and understand risks and challenges and make value-added recommendations and advice.
  • Oversee monthly analysis and reporting of expenses for the portfolio.
  • Lead the quarterly expense forecasting and annual planning processes. Coordinate with various stakeholders and ensure a robust forecast and plan is built up, reviewed and agreed upon with the business.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate reporting infrastructure to drive transparency around expenses.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency by ensuring efficient processes, leveraging automation where appropriate.
  • Develop and manage a team of Finance professionals capable of executing with excellence and providing meaningful financial insights
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous and changing circumstances, able to navigate complex situations independently and determine what issues require escalation, what to resolve and how to make suggestions for improvement

Experience and Education

  • Undergraduate degree
