The Opportunity

Vermilion Energy is hiring a Director, Corporate HSE in our Calgary head office. If you have a passion for driving positive change in HSE, we want to hear from you

You will be responsible for the development and deployment of our HSE strategies, working closely with our executive leadership team and the Vermilion Board of Directors. You will ensure compliance with all corporate requirements in each of our operated regions and drive us toward becoming an HSE leader in the industry.

What you will do
  1. Provide overall leadership and direction of all global HSE strategies and programs
  2. Lead the HSE committee, comprised of HSE representatives from each business unit
  3. Provide reporting on HSE performance to the board of directors and on the company’s abandonment and reclamation liabilities
  4. Ensure HSE vision enables us to be HSE leaders within our peer group
  5. Advise the executive team on HSE issues and bring forward individual country needs to respective VP’s
  6. Develop and implement overall HSE policies and programs to ensure global regulatory compliance
  7. Oversee the development and implementation of training programs to achieve HSE strategies
  8. Develop and monitor annual HSE targets and KPIs
  9. Lead HSE due diligence activities for new global acquisitions
  10. Lead compilation and submission of reports to regulatory agencies
What you will bring
  • 15 years of experience in a senior HSE leadership role, with prior years spent gaining breadth of experience in health and safety
  • A clear demonstration of leadership growth and increasing responsibilities throughout your career
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change to improve HSE performance and results
  • A CRSP / CSP certified HSE professional is preferred
