Pressline Lead Hand – Continental Shift

JOB PURPOSE:

The pressline operator is responsible for leadership and the safe operation of the pressline process.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES – LIST IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE ALL DUTIES OF THIS POSITION:

  1. Conduct start of shift meeting to review previous day (or shift) results, highlighting any problems or achievements, review shift targets, communicate quality issues, discuss recent continuous improvements implemented and address any concerns from the work centre team while encouraging improvement ideas from the team.
  2. Be able to perform any operation within the work centers and be able to transfer knowledge (train) others how to follow the standardized work.
  3. Relieve operators as required to keep cell operational.
  4. Verify equipment safety inspection checklists are completed at the start of shift and follow up with associated work order where required.
  5. Ensure finished goods are organized, handled and labeled properly.
  6. Ensure that all production and scrap are reported accurately.
  7. Document all required information.
  8. Organizing the work center for safe operation including the proper use of PPE.
  9. Work within the company’s goals and objectives of safety, quality, cost and delivery.

SKILLS REQUIRED – COMPUTER PROGRAMS OR OTHER SKILLS:

  1. Must possess leadership and interpersonal skills and be able to relay instructions clearly.
  2. Mechanically inclined.
  3. Ability to train others.
  4. Able to multitask.
  5. Be responsible for quality of work.
  6. Good oral and written communication skills.
  7. Mechanical aptitude.
  8. Compliance with all elements of Health & Safety policy.
  9. Strict adherence to ISO Procedures.
  10. Good attendance record.
