Description and RequirementsThis Procurement position will support Lenovo’s mature but growing Global Product Services including our ongoing sourcing efforts in Sustainability Services. As a Procurement Professional, the successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing various services according to Lenovo policy and best practices, including negotiating procurement contract terms to attain the highest quality at the best value with third-party service providers. The candidate will utilize approved sourcing strategies to deliver optimum benefit to the Global Product Services portfolio. The candidate will coordinate sourcing strategy with internal stakeholders, identify new service provider sources, drive service provider performance management against agreed terms, and recommend cost saving proposals where appropriate. The candidate will build and maintain service provider relationships to drive excellent service delivery in support of all designated Services. The successful candidate should have extensive contract and vendor management experience and a general understanding of procurement practices. Legal experience is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the growth of Global Product Services’ revenue generation, profit contribution, and industry reputation through effective strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and Service Provider management;
- Managing and optimizing Lenovo’s spend with service providers, generating procurement value-add (savings and cost-avoidance) for Lenovo and Lenovo Global Product Services;
- Driving customer satisfaction (serviceability) for our internal Lenovo executives and operations teams through service provider selection and engagement;
- Ensuring adequate business controls are in place surrounding sourcing, contracts, spending, and service provider management;
- Driving best practices and transformation activities to ensure continuous improvement in strategic sourcing, including RFQ generation, bid assessment, service provider selection, contract terms negotiation, service provider management, and service delivery.
Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in Procurement or related field.
- BA or BS in related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with contract drafting. High degree of efficiency and knowledge of Statement of Work commercial contract terms and the ability to draft alternative language to satisfy a negotiated agreement between parties;
- Procurement Industry Acumen – Knowledge and experience in indirect procurement (e.g., operational efficiencies, cost modeling methodologies, performance optimization, etc.);
- Negotiation Skills – Candidate must possess excellent negotiating skills with all levels of management including service providers using analytical and creative approaches to problem solving/resolution;
- Analytics experience to perform competitive bid, cost and fair value analysis, and scenario modeling;
- Problem-solving skills;
- Business Maturity – Ability to drive sound decision making, prepare and present business presentations, and summarize status to senior/executive leaders;
- Independence – Ability to complete tasks and initiatives with a minimal amount of supervision.
