Talent Advisor

As experts in finding talent, fostering company culture, and bringing core values to life at TalentMinded, we know the incredible value team members bring to an organization. We hold ourselves to high standards and guide our teams in meeting them. Our people tell us that opportunities for professional development, collaboration with global clients and national teammates, and significant career growth are among the many reasons working here is so rewarding.
Our purpose
At TalentMinded, we are experts in our field, changing the face of talent acquisition. We’ve leveraged that knowledge to offer a different recruitment framework with modern, intelligent, creative talent acquisition strategies. Our mission is to create a competitive advantage for our clients by helping them build and promote their culture to hire the right people.
As Canada's first subscription-based full-service talent acquisition company, we have a proven track record of successfully partnering with clients. We nurture relationships to understand recruitment needs, increase the employee value proposition and ground their image in social media channels as transparent and forthcoming. These efforts lay the foundation for building a successful talent pipeline, driving better hiring manager engagement and, ultimately, better hiring outcomes.
Who we need
We are growing and looking for a Talent Advisor to join our remote team on a six month contract. You will own the end-to-end recruitment life cycle for multiple clients and multiple roles within each client. You will be the talent sourcer, interviewer, candidate champion, and client project manager. Balancing internal and external relationships, you will prioritize candidate and hiring manager experiences. This is an opportunity to grow your exposure and influence as you help purpose-driven clients scale and gain recognition as an awesome place to work. Every day, you will execute our mission to make talent acquisition an awesome experience for everyone.
Who you are
You are a client-facing individual with outstanding organizational and time management skills. You are detail-oriented and have a growth mindset. You are looking for a role where you will be given the autonomy to make decisions in a fast-paced environment. You want to be part of a team that holds itself to high standards, offers opportunities for professional development, and facilitates collaboration with global clients and national teammates.
What you will do:
- Gain insights. You will participate in client calls and needs analyses to ask probing questions and grow your understanding of client culture, ongoing recruitment challenges, and key hiring criteria.
- Recruit. You will source candidates leveraging social media tools and the latest sourcing technology to identify and recruit quality talent for each client, build talent pools, and drive critical candidate communications to attract the right talent.
- Interview. You will create interview guides to establish an unbiased assessment for each candidate and schedule initial conversations based on your detailed screening of every submitted resume for your assigned roles. You will assess candidates for experience and culture fit, measuring against client criteria and creating competency-based recommendations leveraging our AI Interview Intelligence technology. In addition, you will conduct reference checks.
- Share knowledge. By sharing our processes and reasoning, you will instill confidence in our expertise with your clients. You will address their recruitment needs in well-thought-out responses by phone or email, ensuring transparency and encouraging open communication. You will promptly and confidently address any concerns they may have and escalate as needed to provide outstanding client satisfaction. You will immerse yourself in the company values and strategy and stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance recruitment processes.
- Report. You will collaborate with the internal Business Analyst and the Operations team to gather and interpret recruitment data, prepare updates for hiring manager calls, or contribute to client presentations.
- Make hiring awesome. You will prioritize an exceptional candidate experience from end to end. You will ensure all potential candidates are contacted within our service level agreement window and kept up to date with their application status at every point in the process. You will support candidates in preparing for hiring manager interviews and respond to questions and concerns. You will be an advocate for great talent.
- Assist with internal projects. We do our best to give our staff the freedom to participate in opportunities that will expand their skills and support their career goals. This may include knowledge sharing with the team, participating in special client assignments such as recruitment audits, or contributing to TalentMinded bootcamps and workshops.
What you bring:
- A passion for recruitment. With end-to-end recruiting experience in organizations of varying sizes, you excel as part of a team and independently. Your approach to attracting and retaining top talent is both strategic and practical. You can effectively prioritize work in an environment of competing demands while meeting key performance indicators (KPIs).
- The business acumen. You are curious and proactively research new ideas. You have a proven ability to grasp new technologies and concepts quickly. You are accountable and driven, and you thrive in a fast-moving environment. You have a passion for processes and outstanding organizational and prioritization skills.
- The integrity. You have high standards of accountability and prioritize professionalism and respect. You are open to feedback and coaching and have a demonstrated ability to work in a respectful manner with groups from diverse backgrounds and experiences. You are calm in the face of conflict or difficulty. You can adapt to the rapidly changing needs of clients, candidates, internal teams, and the market, confidently making proactive or responsive decisions.
- The interpersonal skills. You have experience nurturing relationships with teams, stakeholders and vendors, negotiating, influencing without authority, and managing expectations. You have exceptional active listening skills. You can adapt your written and verbal communication style to ensure transparency, authenticity, and understanding.
Why you may like working with us (and why you might not):
- We are fully remote with core hours - and that won’t change. It allows us flexibility to work with clients globally and meet our personal commitments. However, this may not work for you if you mostly gain your energy collaborating in person or have a restricted personal schedule.
- We are data-driven. We leverage data from our ATS to track and report our progress. We create context around the numbers based on market trends, industry insights, and client specifics. If running reports and analyzing data isn’t your thing, no worries—we have an Operations team to do that. But if drawing data-based conclusions and recommendations isn’t your thing, this role might be tough for you.
- Our values and our mission mean everything to us. These guiding principles drive our employee experience and how we build our company culture. We call our values “The B’s.” BE AN ALLY. BE AWESOME. BE MEMORABLE. BE EMPOWERED. BE A THOUGHT LEADER. If you're not passionate about recruitment and driving change and innovation in our industry, then our goals may not be aligned.
- We know recruitment can be like a roller coaster ride. If you can celebrate the highs and learn from the lows, responding to the changing needs of the recruitment market and our clients, you will thrive. If you need firm project end dates and predictability, you might find adapting to the pace here harder.
- We have technology and processes, and we are agile. We use a unique tech stack to do our work but equally prioritize human-to-human, responsive communication. Our processes are based on deep insights and expertise. We continue to iterate on what does and doesn’t work. When a decision needs to be made quickly, we empower our team to take ownership and respond rapidly. If the idea of learning a new tool, picking up the phone or taking the initiative makes you nervous, this might not be the most comfortable role for you.
- You will elevate your recruiting experience. You will work with local, national, and global companies in some of the most impactful industry sectors, recruiting for positions up to the C-Suite level. If working with multiple client profiles and a wide range of roles sounds overwhelming, this may not be the best fit for you.
How we work:
How we manage and how feedback happens: We meet regularly with each team member to ensure we are aligned on professional development and job happiness. Peer-to-peer support is part of our culture, with dedicated Slack channels to share industry knowledge and for each client to ask and answer questions.
How we recognize each other: We believe in shining a light on each other’s accomplishments and sharing collective wins. We love getting to know our remote team and having fun with online challenges, life event celebrations, random remote work thoughts, and sharing photos of our pets
How meetings work here: We have clients who need to know what’s happening; recruitment update meetings with hiring managers and talent advisors are held biweekly on a virtual meeting platform. Candidate initial interviews are scheduled multiple times throughout the day. The volume of candidates and the urgency of the role will determine how many virtual meetings you have. Internal meetings are kept to a minimum.
The tools we use: We provide our teams with the latest tools and technology to make collaborating virtual with each other and our clients seamless and effective. We use Slack, Google Suite, Google Meets, Zoom, Teams, JazzHR, BrightHire, Cronofy, Canva, and Asana are some of the productivity, communication, documentation, and design tools we use. We’re always adding to our tech stack to drive efficiencies and productivity for our teams.
If you want to grow with us and make a measurable impact on clients and candidates, please apply.
Apply now.
At TalentMinded, we recognize that not everyone takes the same path when it comes to building their skills; we value diverse skills, approaches, education, and experience. At TalentMinded, we're committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We strive to integrate these values into everything we do, from our partners and offers to our teams and interactions.
