About The Role

The Inventory Controller is responsible for all inventory systems and the appropriate inventory levels and storage locations, including new stock processing, location system maintenance, stock movement analysis, and catalogue maintenance. The Inventory Controller is also responsible for all prescribed requirements under Occupational Health & Safety Act (OH&S Act) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) for accurate floor plans and inventories of designated substances. The Inventory Controller role may include other reasonable duties/tasks from time to time.

Safety and Sustainability Expectations
  1. Required to work within and ensure compliance to the Legislation applicable particularly as it relates to designated substances under WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
  2. Responsible to keep the work environment clean and safe.
  3. Required to wear PPE as prescribed by the OHS act and company policies.
  4. Recognizes safety issues and corrects, delegates, or recommends corrective action.
  5. Lead and promote Newmont’s Fatality Risk Management (FRM) standards and controls.
Essential Duties
  1. Review and approve daily material requirements (MRP).
  2. Ensure that all new inventory request forms are properly completed and have all necessary approvals using the standard Newmont Catalog Inventory Request (CIR) form.
  3. Update physical count for month-end.
  4. Responsible for generating all cyclical count reports to ensure that every item in stock is counted in accordance with company guidelines and support warehouse supervisors in this process.
  5. Review all new stock items on first delivery and potential new items with the warehouse supervisor to minimize duplication of items, add any new equivalent part numbers and update item descriptions as required.
  6. Ongoing data maintenance of material management catalog descriptions, keywords, equivalents and equipment references.
  7. Control inventory levels by reviewing, analyzing, reporting and directing corrective action based on historical and criticality data. Particular emphasis should be placed on items that are continually out of stock.
  8. Support the design and implementation of new inventory areas.
  9. Support training/assistance to all end-users regarding warehousing functions.
  10. Work with internal customers/end-users to plan material requirements.
Requirements
  1. Post secondary education in supply chain management and/or related field.
  2. Excellence in data analysis and trend interpretation to make the right decisions to optimize inventory management.
  3. Understanding of the supply chain in order to solve logistical problems to ensure service levels meet company objectives.
  4. Flexibility to maintain service levels in line with changes in mining methods, equipment and/or process equipment modifications.
  5. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to generate reports using Power BI.
  6. Autonomy to be able to navigate in a remote supervision environment.
  7. MRO-OI Oniqua experience desirable.
  8. Fluency in French and sufficient knowledge of English to be able to communicate orally and in writing.
Professional Experience
  1. 2 to 5 years' experience in inventory control, procurement and warehousing, preferably in a mining or manufacturing environment.
  2. 2 to 5 years' knowledge and understanding of the SAP M Materials Management module.
Working Conditions
  1. Available to be at the Éléonore site 25% of the time.
  2. 75% of the time remotely, 5 working days followed by 2 days off.
