Department Overview

1B Governance and Control (G&C) is a diverse and dynamic group of individuals, whose varied talents and experiences enable us to provide critical infrastructure services that support and/or control the trading, investment, and corporate banking functions of TD Securities (TDS). The G&C team partners with the Business (1A) and other groups globally to mitigate risk and deliver world class service to our global client base. Additionally, we ensure the Business adequately consider, manage, and mitigate the risks in day-to-day activities, operations, products, and services, and is operating within risk appetite.

Job Description

As a Senior Manager, you will lead and manage work across G&C including 1B standards, focusing on regulatory compliance programs for recordkeeping and trade surveillance (venue management). Liaises between team members, cross functional teams across various geographies, business and technology stakeholders to ensure deliverables, requirements, schedules, meeting plans and associated change activities are planned, communicated and delivered. The role will also have the opportunity to lead global initiatives to ensure a consistent approach to how TDS manages and mitigates risk.

Job Accountabilities

The general accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

• Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive project documentation and apply governance.

• Developing scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.

• Lead and manage oversight of project plan, risk and issues log, and reporting for assigned workstreams.

• Lead and manage working groups, facilitate meetings, ensure alignment to program goals, identify and mitigate risks as they arise.

• Collaborates with other Project Managers to closely manage cross-workstream dependencies.

• Execute and coordinate controls, testing and monitoring requirements, where required.

• Provide business analysis, support definition of strategy, and general change management functions as needed.

• Ensures artifacts are preserved in accordance with program governance standards.

• Provide consultation to executives and senior leaders on project risks and mitigation strategies as necessary.

• Indirectly manages a cross-LoB Project team consisting of Business Analysts, Business SMEs and Technology Resources where applicable.

• Provide leadership, direction, advice and guidance to the teams, thus maintaining high levels of integrity, motivation and morale.

• Participate in TDS and enterprise committees, meetings, or programs.

• Respond to all requests in a timely manner.

• Establish an environment that promotes respect, diversity and inclusion for each individual employee and adhere to the policies and guidelines of the Bank including the TD Framework and Our Shared Objectives.

• Foster an environment and culture that encourages productivity, innovation, process improvement, teamwork, and a high level of professionalism.

Job Requirements

• Strong compliance and/ or risk management background.

• Strategic thinking with solid problem solving and decision-making skills.

• Strong understanding of what is required for the successful development and implementation of compliance and risk procedures and initiatives.

• Knowledge of TD Securities businesses is preferred.

• Knowledge of key global regulation impacting TD Securities businesses is preferred.

• Knowledge of the MERLIN application is an asset.

• Strong analytical/research skills & business acumen with the ability to breakdown complex subjects into manageable parts in a systematic manner & assess risk/challenge the status quo.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact at all levels of the organization, coupled with a passion to build strong working relationships and contribute to a strong team environment.

• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, detail oriented and often ambiguous environment.

• Strong organizational/time management skills.

• Flexibility to quickly adapt to changing requirements and execute on non-routine ad-hoc requests.

• A positive "can do" attitude with a curiosity and willingness to learn and grow, as well as share knowledge and experience.
