TECE Governance & Control (G&C) is a first line of defense (1B) function and is accountable for fostering an effective, transparent culture of risk awareness, evaluating business strategy and activities against risk appetite, and providing management and stakeholders with sufficient and timely insight to enable effective oversight.

The team also collaborates with supported businesses to identify, assess, and develop risk mitigation strategies to manage current and emerging risk exposures across all risk categories.

We are seeking a colleague to lead Governance, Risk & Controls workstream for the Front To Back (F2B) Operational Excellence initiatives across the enterprise.

The F2B Program is responsible for driving transformation with significant scale and complexity.

The Program works collaboratively with Business Segments and Corporate Functions from across the bank to reimagine the north star experience for customers and colleagues.

The mandate of this role is to work with various business/functions to understand the existing governance, risk and control environment for the areas in-scope of the specific F2B engagement and to lead efforts to identify operational excellence opportunities with respect to risk, governance and control processes.

As the Risk, Policy & Control workstream lead, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with other Subject Matter Experts on the F2B team as well as with the segment SMEs and their respective Governance & Control teams and Risk and Control Partners.

Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Governance & Control for Transformation, Enablement and Customer Engagement (TECE), the successful candidate will work as an individual contributor as part of the F2B team, collaborating with other F2B team members and under the day-to-day guidance of the F2B leadership.


Specifically, the Senior Governance & Control Specialist will:
Lead Risk, Policy & Controls workstream for various F2B initiatives
Provide leadership as a Governance and Control SME and to provide specialized advice / support to the cross functional F2B team and leadership
Conduct analysis using data to draw conclusions, identify opportunities for improvement of controls, governance process, standard or policy and provide recommendations to the business / function
Communicate identified risks, issues, gaps in the control environment, in adherence to internal policies / standards or regulatory requirements to the segment leaders for action
Lead analysis / research and support the development / delivery of materials and presentations to executives and business / function leaders and broad audience
Demonstrate thought leadership by providing practical, implementable recommendations, in alignment with overall business/function strategy, to help inform decision making
Build effective working relationships with various business groups, G&C teams and risk and control partners across the enterprise
Be knowledgeable of and comply with the Bank's risk management policies, standards and processes
Undergraduate degree preferred
~Advanced knowledge of governance, risk and control programs and processes and also risk management policies and standards,
~ Ability to see different sides of an issue, synthesize large amounts of information, build intellectual frameworks to guide analysis and examine the full range of options for action
~ Strong project delivery skills with experience in organizing, prioritizing, planning, and executing workstreams for high-risk, high-visibility, large-scale projects
~ Solid experience and proven record in working closely with senior executives. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence senior executives and articulate challenges and solutions
~ Ability to stay energized, productive, and focused in the face of challenges or strenuous demands, creating a supportive environment that helps others
