Job Coach/Business Developer

Primary Purpose of the Job: The main objective of this job is to secure employment opportunities for clients using a variety of resources and to maintain contact with clients and employers for 90 days following their completion date to ensure their success.
Reports to: Program Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruit new clients using TRF, community referrals, and other recruitment channels
- Meet one-on-one with clients to gain understanding of their career goals and to help them establish individual job search plans.
- Promote clients to employers by highlighting their strengths and vibrant skills.
- Assist clients with resume development and cover letter writing, as well as interview preparation
- Research job requirements and explore training options with clients
- Motivate clients to seek employment and strive for success
- Maintain good contact with existing employers while creating new contacts through cold-calling, networking, and other approaches to secure placement opportunities
- Follow up with clients upon completion of 30, 60, and 90 days of employment to ensure that they are successful
- Establish strong contacts in various industries
- Attend team meetings and other meetings as needed
- Keep accurate records
- Assist in the organization and promotion of RES events and other program activities
- Participate in community committees and promote the RES program, serving as a knowledgeable and respected member of the MCG team
- Meet program targets of intake, placements, completers, and 90-day follow-up
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in human resources or a relevant field
- Proven experience as a Job Coach (or similar role) including, interview & assessment, career planning, job placements, employer connections, and marketing
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, negotiation and networking abilities
- Advanced computer and internet searching skills
- Consistent access to a reliable vehicle
