Procurement Manager

Horizon Recruitment Inc. has an immediate requirement for a Procurement Manager to join our manufacturing and distribution client. Our client requires a seasoned procurement manager to develop and lead sourcing and supply chain strategies for a growing operation. Reporting to the General Manager, this role oversees equipment, materials, and service procurement across multiple departments.
Responsibilities:
- Manage purchasing requisitions from sales, production, service, and engineering.
- Optimize inventory levels and establish min/max levels in collaboration with production and engineering managers.
- Continuously evaluate products and vendors for supply chain and pricing improvements.
- Manage vendor performance and report KPIs to senior management.
- Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and vendors, ensuring best pricing and delivery.
- Ensure compliance with head office policies and procedures
- procurement policies and issue purchase orders.
- Monitor purchases for timely delivery and resolve order discrepancies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- APICS, ISM, NCMA or equivalent supply chain certification.
- Minimum 5 years leadership experience in a procurement or supply chain role.
- Customer-focused with strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong skills in strategic planning, project management, process improvement, innovation, and team building.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions, foreseeing market trends to stay ahead of the competition.
- Proven negotiator with a successful track record in vendor relations and product/service assessment.
- Experience in collaboration and team building across the enterprise.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, able to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, and Project).
