Privacy Counsel, Legal AffairsABOUT YOUR ROLEPerform privacy impact and vendor assessments, as required under the Privacy Act (Canada), the GDPR and other privacy laws applicable to PSP in collaboration with internal stakeholdersProcess and respond to privacy requests, investigations, complaints and consultations within delay prescribed by lawProvide advice and recommendations on privacy requirements for projects involving personal informationReview, draft and update privacy policies, procedures, guidelines, notices and other documentationReview, draft and negotiate data protection addendums, data transfer agreements and privacy and security contractual terms for suppliersLead/support privacy and security breach investigations and reporting internally and externallyMonitor, report on and implement new requirements under applicable and new privacy and data protection laws and share relevant information with internal stakeholdersDevelop and deliver in-house privacy training programs for employees/consultants customized to the needs of different stakeholders and coordinate corporate awareness activities related to privacyAssist on access to information requests, as requiredWHAT YOU’LL NEEDCalled to the bar in at least one Province in CanadaIAPP or other privacy professional certification will be considered an assetMinimum of 5 years related experienceTrusted subject-matter expert in federal Canadian and EU/UK privacy law (expertise in other jurisdictions considered an asset)Interest in, and willingness to learn about, the Access to Information Act (Canada)Strong interpersonal skillsExcellent written and verbal communications skillsAbility to simplify complex issues and provide practical advice that can be operationalizedAbility to independently set priorities and follow up with relevant parties to meet strict deadlines, while managing a large workloadSound business judgment, adaptability, and demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues quickly and effectivelyProactive and solution orientedFinely tuned sense of professionalism and ethicsRespectful and appreciative of diversityBilingualism English and French (Frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
