Duties:

Operational Oversight:

  1. Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.

  3. Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, ordering, and merchandising.

Team Management:

  1. Recruit, hire, and train store staff, ensuring they meet performance standards.
  2. Schedule and manage employee shifts to ensure optimal staffing.

Sales and Customer Service:

  1. Drive sales through effective merchandising, promotions, and customer service strategies.
  2. Address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly and professionally.
  3. Analyze sales reports and trends to identify opportunities for increasing sales and profitability.

Marketing and Promotions:

  1. Implement marketing and promotional activities to attract customers and boost sales.
  2. Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure in-store promotions align with brand strategy.
  3. Track the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.

Customer Experience:

  1. Develop and maintain high standards of customer service.
  2. Foster a positive shopping environment through effective team leadership and customer engagement.

Compliance and Safety:

  1. Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
  2. Maintain health and safety standards within the store and address any hazards promptly.
  3. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to store policies and procedures.

Inventory Control:

  1. Monitor and manage stock levels, including receiving shipments and conducting stock takes.
  2. Ensure accurate inventory records and minimize stock loss through effective security measures.

Reporting and Analysis:

  1. Prepare and present regular reports on store performance, including sales, expenses, and customer feedback.
  2. Analyze sales data and trends to make informed decisions on inventory, staffing, and promotions.

Community Engagement:

  1. Represent the store in the local community through events and promotions.
  2. Build relationships with local businesses and organizations to enhance store visibility and reputation.
Education Profile

Qualifications:

  • Education: Grade 12 is essential. A tertiary qualification in Management, Finance, or Commerce is advantageous.

Experience:

  • Retail Experience: At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within the retail sector.

Skills Required:

  • Selling Skills: Proven ability to drive sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong financial skills and understanding of retail financial processes.
  • Industrial Relations Knowledge: Familiar with industrial relations practices.
  • Coaching Skills: Basic ability to coach and develop team members.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
