The Learning Designer creates innovative, digital, adaptive and engaging solutions aligned to the best practices and standards for design delivery. The Learning Designer challenges the status quo with forward thinking and collaborates to meet the needs of our team within digital learning solutions.


Responsibilities

Technical

- Proficient at implementing curriculum design principles and standards that ensure consistency, flexibility, and sustainability of learning materials.

- Quickly familiarize yourself with new project content

- Apply adult learning principles in the development of all learning materials.

- Formulate key questions regarding content/design and work efficiently with SMEs to resolve them.

- Complete voicing and editing for web-based modules.

- Ensure all components of design align and support the programs’ learning objectives, desired outcomes, and program strategy.

- Provide effective knowledge testing throughout the programs using platforms such as quizzes, learning activities, knowledge checks, decision-based scenarios, and case studies.


Consulting

- You demonstrate teamwork, consultation and professionalism when developing digital, engaging and interactive learning solutions consisting of:

o web-based modules

o Self-guided digital learning solutions

o Virtual Classroom

o instructor led.

- Demonstrate decision-making skills regarding artistic vision of curriculum builds and how to transform content into engaging and interactive experiences for our learners.

- Exhibit strong customer service skills with demonstrated ability to deliver innovative solutions and ability to leverage data and technology when building learning programs.

- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as persuasive presentation skills.


Qualifications and Experience

• Degree/Diploma in Adult Education or Instructional Design an asset

• 5+ years of instructional design experience

• Preference with bilingual English/French

• Advanced knowledge and experience using curriculum design tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Connect and Snagit

• Expert knowledge of modern adult learning techniques, instructional design, creative writing, and design to create interactive and effective learning platforms based on the complexity of project content

• Expert ability in developing highly detailed WBT storyboards and ILT design layouts using set design templates

• Adaptable and creative when developing materials for new hires, new skills, systems, sales, service and product training

• Proven ability in writing concise, creative, and effective instructions for deliverables including storyboards/scripts, job-aids, instructor and participant guides and e-learning modules

• Deliver complete and clear programs which deliver projected outcomes

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including written, oral and presentation in English and French

• Customer obsession mindset

• Demonstrates a growth mindset with progressive and creative thinking

• Ability to effectively manage multiple activities for multiple initiatives of varying complexity while under time constraints

• Efficient and calm when working in stressful situations

• Excited about new and emerging Learning & Development trends and will push the boundaries with the in-house design tools we have

• Highly collaborative and takes other ideas into account when developing learning
