Our client is looking for a CMMS Business Needs Assessment Consultant to conduct an assessment of their current computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), which has been using SAP Plant Maintenance.
The consultant will evaluate existing systems, processes, and business requirements to help the Client modernize their CMMS to support more efficient operations across water and wastewater treatment plants and over 100 remote facilities.
The consultant will conduct stakeholder workshops, identify business requirements, and provide a comprehensive report of findings and recommendations to prepare WFTS for an upcoming CMMS modernization initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct workshops and meetings with key stakeholders (WFTS staff and Clients IT Services) to review current CMMS processes and operations.
- Evaluate existing SAP Plant Maintenance functionality and identify opportunities for improvement in work planning, scheduling, document management, and mobile field solutions.
- Assess business needs and requirements for modern CMMS systems, including integration with existing systems like SharePoint (document control) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition).
- Map business processes and identify critical functionality required for an upgraded CMMS platform.
- Develop a detailed CMMS business needs assessment report, including recommendations on how to align the City’s CMMS modernization initiative with poader Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) efforts.
- Present findings and recommendations to the WFTS leadership team, ensuring clear guidance on the best path forward.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in CMMS assessments or similar projects, particularly within public sector or regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of SAP Plant Maintenance and other modern CMMS systems.
- Experience working with water treatment, wastewater, or municipal infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct stakeholder workshops and deliver comprehensive needs assessments.
- Expertise in system integrations, including SharePoint, SCADA, HR, and Materials Management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in presenting complex findings to technical and management teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, including Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) compliance requirements.
- Experience in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) initiatives.
- Prior experience working with municipal or public sector clients on IT and CMMS projects.
