Job Summary

We seek a motivated and experienced Part-Time IT Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will manage IT administration and support functions and play a crucial part in providing technical support and assistance to our internal employees.


Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, setting up and configuring computer systems, installing and upgrading software, and assisting with data backup and recovery.


The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a customer-focused approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.


Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software (including Microsoft Office, Shopify, Adobe, Smartsheet, Monday, etc.), and network issues in person, over the phone, via email, and using remote support tools.
  • Provide technical support for cybersecurity (e.g., anti-spam/anti-virus software, two-factor authentication, encryption, phishing attacks), copiers, printers, scanners, label printers, audio-visual systems, and video conferencing software.
  • Install, configure, and maintain IT systems and applications.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of IT infrastructure, including data backups and recovery.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, email, and collaboration tools.
  • Assist in the procurement and setup of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Document IT processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Partner with HR on the onboarding and offboarding of employees.
  • Support IT-related projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Monitor the performance of existing computer systems and IT infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ticketing systems.
  • Oversee inventory management of software and hardware components.
  • Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers for support and maintenance.
  • Provide training sessions and materials to employees on new software, tools, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Stay updated on the latest IT trends and innovations to suggest improvements to existing systems.


Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance.
  • College Diploma or University Degree in computer science or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience with Mac and PC systems, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Expert knowledge of Google applications such as G Suite (Workspace), Google Meet, and Google Sheets.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to effectively convey IT principles and technical support to a diverse audience.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality.


This part-time position requires approximately 16 hours per week, with one day per week spent at the Mississauga office.
