Responsibilities include:
- Tier 2 Application Support: Provide technical solutions and escalate tasks outside the scope to appropriate teams
- Troubleshooting: Analyze log files and resolve issues independently using advanced debugging capabilities
- Incident Management: Manage the ticket lifecycle (incidents and requests) from initiation to resolution, ensuring consistent communication and follow-up
- Proactive Problem-Solving
- Holistic Application Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the application, including upstream and downstream dependencies, database schemas, and key processes
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and other teams to resolve issues
- Technical Communication: Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, providing clear and concise documentation of incidents and resolutions
- Shift Work: Willingness to work in a rotating shift environment
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without the need for current or future sponsorship
- No prior work experience required
- Hands-on experience with Unix for tasks such as log management, automation, and search functionality
- Experience configuring and optimizing batch processing workflows using scheduling tools like AutoSys
- Proficiency in utilizing ServiceNow for ITIL processes such as incident, problem, and release management
- Ability to troubleshoot XML configuration files, data interchange, web services, and integration issues
- Understanding of capital markets, trading processes, financial instruments, and market regulations to effectively support applications
- Understanding of the full debugging lifecycle, including diagnosing, resolving, and documenting issues.
- Competency in using Python for debugging purposes.
- Preferred qualifications:
- Basic understanding of networking fundamentals with exposure to both Windows and UNIX-based operating systems
- Prior exposure to Python (especially for debugging) and SQL (especially for troubleshooting scripts and queries)
