Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to drive the regional performance of the HLS portfolio in the Western Canada regions (BC/AB/MN/SK). The Regional Business Manager will be responsible for two distinct HLS franchises, cardiology and neuroscience. This individual will lead a team of Specialty Sales Representatives, some fully dedicated to cardiology and others fully dedicated to neuroscience. The primary responsibility of the Regional Business Manager (RBM) is to ensure flawless execution of brand strategies and oversight of the local key account activation plan that supports the brand strategies in the region. The role requires the ability to lead, inspire and coach the field sales team to build strong, strategic, partnerships with our key external stakeholders. This role also requires the ability to identify account level opportunities and develop a plan aligned with internal stakeholders to achieve intended business objectives.


This leadership role is also responsible for building field sales competencies and capabilities enabling the teams to provide unmatched patients & customer value through the creation of meaningful business relationships and by providing science-based solutions of the brands. This is accomplished through effective leadership, coaching, and mentoring, and demonstrating strong strategic and critical thinking. This role is required to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with the relevant internal stakeholders to help create and define the relevant brand & sales strategies.


Major Accountabilities

  • Achieve all regional business objectives including sales goals and market share growth.
  • Ensure appropriate promotion of HLS product(s) and services with key opinion leaders, targeted specialists and healthcare professionals by the sales representatives.
  • Identify the needs of regional accounts and collaborate with the extended HLS team to deliver solutions at the account level that benefit patients, healthcare professionals and HLS.
  • Develop, execute, and track a regional business plan.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all cross-functional team members to ensure optimal alignment on business opportunities and priorities.
  • Maintain a current level of knowledge on assigned products and disease areas.
  • Analyze and report on sales, medical education, monthly plans, call activity and budgets.
  • Lead, Coach, Motivate and Train the team to ensure the appropriate implementation of marketing strategies and business planning
  • impacts positively the engagement, development, retention and productivity of the team to achieve the highest business performance
  • Keep current on relevant matters including company business, policy and procedures to ensure 100% compliant implementation.
  • Manage and control expenses to maximize return on investment.
  • Participate as a member of internal strategic cross functional team, providing field insights to help drive brand strategies and tactics.
  • Act as a role model for the HLS values & behaviours and commercial ethical practices (compliance to Innovative Medicines Canada, Code of conduct, etc.).


Qualifications

  • 5–10years sales leadership experience with a strong record of achievement.
  • Prior account management experience required.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in a hospital, specialty is preferred.
  • Past experience in either cardiology or neuroscience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and empower teams to work in agile manner.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and presentation skills.
  • Results-oriented and customer focused.
  • Highly energetic and self-motivated.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various groups and commitment to teamwork.
  • Proven business acumen including strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Valid driver’s licence


Education

University degree, health sciences or business administration preferable.


Other

Position requires extensive travel (approx. 50%) if based in British Columbia or Alberta.
