We're seeking a Director of Fire Protection Engineering to spearhead technical leadership and strategic direction in fire protection engineering. As a Director of Fire Protection Engineering, you will lead the technical aspects of fire protection engineering, focusing on innovation and technical excellence. You will provide expert guidance on complex projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and direct the technical aspects of the fire protection engineering practice, with a focus on innovation, quality, and technical excellence.
  2. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance technical capabilities and market presence in fire protection engineering.
  3. Provide expert guidance on complex fire protection engineering projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  4. Collaborate closely with internal teams to optimize project delivery processes and workflows, integrating advanced technical methodologies.
  5. Mentor and coach team members to foster technical growth and proficiency within fire protection engineering.
  6. Cultivate a culture of continuous technical improvement, encouraging innovation and excellence in all aspects of fire protection engineering.
  7. Establish and maintain strong technical relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and industry partners to support business development efforts.
  8. Monitor technical trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in fire protection engineering.
  9. Lead by example, demonstrating unwavering commitment to technical integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all technical interactions and activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  2. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent technical certification.
  3. Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical fire protection engineering, with a proven track record of successful technical project delivery and client satisfaction.
  4. Extensive technical expertise in fire modeling, performance-based design, and advanced fire protection engineering methodologies.
  5. Strong technical leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate technical teams to achieve technical goals and objectives.
  6. Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement technical plans to achieve technical objectives and drive technical growth.
  7. Commitment to technical quality and continuous technical improvement, with a focus on delivering exceptional technical solutions and value to clients.
  8. Proficiency in relevant technical software and tools, including FDS, CFD, and technical analysis tools.
  9. Willingness to travel as needed to support technical project activities and technical business development efforts.

The base salary range for this position is between $160,000 and $200,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications. The bonus package includes performance bonuses and relocation allowance if necessary.
