Apprentice Sprinkler Fitter

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Completion of the 4-year sprinkler fitter apprenticeship program
- A member of local 853 in good standing
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Capable of performing physical labour to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Majority of work completed above head
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Read and understand construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities
- Install, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler systems.
- Inspect fire sprinkler systems and components to ensure proper operation.
- Test fire sprinkler systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Conduct regular maintenance on fire sprinkler systems and components.
- Troubleshoot and repair any issues with fire sprinkler systems.
- Provide emergency repairs when needed.
- Document all work performed on fire sprinkler systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
- Security Clearance is an asset.

- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
- Have good dexterity and like to work with your hands
- Enjoy working indoors or outdoors in all seasons
- Like to solve problems and build solutions
- Are physically fit with stamina for manual labour
- Have experience using hand and power tools
- Are willing to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Understand basic math
- Have strong attention to detail
- Are in good physical condition with good endurance
- Are comfortable working at heights
- Hands-on experience in working with piping materials and tools
- Fall Protection / Working at Heights training (preferred)
- Elevated Work Platform Training (preferred)
- Valid G Ontario driver’s license and clean Drivers Abstract
- Prior experience in construction is an asset
