River Rock Casino Resort is looking for energetic and motivated Manager, Banquets that can think quickly on their feet and contribute as a strong team player to a large operation and growing company. This position will involve day-to-day hands-on activities and is responsible for all aspects of the food and beverage department for banquet operations which includes directing, implementing and monitoring banquet operations, ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, maintains banquet food and beverage labour costs, sources out new products and services, motivates and leads by example and provides a learning environment. 

Duties and responsibilities for our next Manager, Banquets include:

  • Overall management and profitability of banquet operations, including the review of all banquet set ups, banquet event orders and station assignments
  • Meeting exceptional service levels for all guests through focus on employee training, performance management and leadership
  • Maximizing productivity through effective team member scheduling and supervision
  • Performing payroll & labour costing
  • Monitoring inventories, ordering and purchasing, and maintaining accurate log books
  • Promoting and marketing banquet operations
  • Implementing strategic banquet plans with the management team and offering banquet expertise to internal and external guests
  • Liaising with theatre operations and casino operations to ensure overall food & beverage efficiencies
  • Responsible for assisting in all food & beverage outlet’s
  • Active involvement in recruitment of banquet team members and in Departmental Meetings
  • Contributing to the overall company goals, initiatives and objectives

    Education and Qualification Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of recent Supervisory experience in a similar Banquet Food and Beverage role
  • Certificate in hospitality and/or restaurant management is an asset
  • Energetic, highly motivated and creative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to train and develop employees
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to obtain FoodSafe Level 2 and Serving it Right License certifications
  • The ability to successfully pass a criminal record and credit check through the Gaming Policy and  Enforcement Branch (if required)
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
