Role Responsibilities
The Sheriffs Branch Health and Wellness Coordinator will lead, engage, and coordinate the mental health programs and initiatives implemented for all staff within the Sheriffs Branch. This includes overseeing and developing programs designed to support the well-being of the Sheriffs branch staff. Examples of these programs include the Peer Support Program, Re-Integration Program, and Critical Incident Stress Management. The implementation and utilization of these evidence-based programs are imperative to ensure the staff obtain adequate and appropriate mental health supports following a critical incident, a stressful situation, and any type of long-term absence from work. The Health and Wellness Coordinator will implement strategies through the aforementioned support programs to encourage the healthy return of staff to duty as well as support the ongoing maintenance of overall health and wellness.
Mental Health education is another critical component of developing resiliency in our staff. In conjunction with managers, the Health and Wellness Coordinator will research, develop, implement, and promote various mental health programs for the Sheriffs Branch.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for overseeing the coordination, delivery and development of the Peer Support Program ensuring its smooth operation and continuous improvement; Delivery of the Working Mind training across the Division Ensure successful implementation and execution of this training program; Conducting research on various mental health initiatives to recommend to senior leadership; Staying up to date with the latest developments in mental health and well-being, identifying and recommending new initiatives that address the specific needs and challenges faced by employees.
