Casino Ajax is seeking a Full-Time Surveillance Supervisor
Under the general direction of the Surveillance Manager or designate, this position is responsible for daily on-going monitoring and observation of Casino operations, while ensuring the security and integrity of Casino assets, staff and guests. The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with proven knowldege, skills and abilites to govern over a high paced, pressured filled environment. You will be accountable for the staff, assigning duties, briefing/monitoring of employees and overseeing occurrences as they develop. A Surveillance Supervisor is also resposible for hiring, training, evaluations, recognition and development of the team. As a Surveillance Supervisor you will foster a safe and efficient work environment while maintaining an open door policy. A Surveillance Supervisor will ensures adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian’s learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Successful applicants will demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Supervising, managing and delegating Surveillance Operators daily tasks, duties and maintain awareness of all gaming operations at all times
- Communicates effectively and interacts with internal and external customers while delivering exceptional cutomer service
- Must be reliable, diligent and maintain a high level of intergrity
- Safeguard confidential information and prevents its improper disclosure or use
- Investigate, report and document all irregular, unusual, suspicious, or illegal activities
- Maintains and verifies logs, enter information into trackers and timesheets, prepares and verifies departmental reports
- Monitors, documents and reports violations, unauthorized access, large cash/cash equivalent transactions, trespassed and self-excluded guests (not limited to)
- Stores records securely for evidence purposes
- Monitors and reports on the conditions of Surveillance facilities and equipment; performs preventative maintenance on equipment as required
- Provides training and coaching to all new team members
- Assist the management team with projects as needed
- Ensures health and safety directives are followed and other statutory regulations
- Performs other duties as directed by Surveillance Manager or designate
- Ensures compliance with Alcohol and Gaming Commission regulations and applicable laws, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Table Games and gaming industry considered an asset
- Ability to work all shifts (This includes evenings, weekends, and holidays)
- Responsible for the supervision and performance management of Surveillance Operators.
Education and Qualification Requirements:
- Secondary School diploma, with preference to graduates with a post-secondary education in Law and Security or Criminology
- A minimum of 1 (one) or more years of Surveillance / Security related fields or gaming related positions, with preference to Supervisory experience of 1 (one) or more years
- Strong leadership, analytical, observational, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive and solution-oriented skills with strong problem-solving, and conflict resolutions skills
- Knowledge of computer applications – MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
- Food Safety or Responsible Liquor Service Certification
- The ability to obtain registration as a Category 1 Gaming Assistant (license) with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
