About Our Opportunity

We are hiring a Junior Policy Analyst Intern to join our Policy and Corporate Services division, and your fresh perspectives, ideas, and energy will contribute to change.

As an Intern, you will gain extensive knowledge of the public sector, government decision-making, research and analysis, and communications. This is the perfect opportunity to showcase your creative abilities in a diverse environment that fosters collaboration.

In this role you will work collaboratively across the Department on key initiatives that work to create healthy communities. You will support various projects by researching and analyzing relevant issues and initiatives, supporting change management efforts, and contributing to the preparation of advice and recommendations to government.

Primary Accountabilities

Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting jurisdictional scans and researching current issues and initiatives Preparing presentations and briefing material for steering committees and Executives Providing agenda management support and recording notes from meetings and workshops Supporting the development of submissions to cabinet including Memorandum to Executive Council (MECs) and Requests for Legislation (RFLs) Collaborating with the broader project team and providing support on deliverables as required

Qualifications and Experience

The following skills and experiences are considered essential:

You must have graduated from a post-secondary institute, such as a university, community college or recognised trade school within the past three (3) years Have background in public administration, research, or other related background in policy / analysis Experience drafting and completing communications Experience conducting research and analysis Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint Strong written and verbal communication capacities, including strong presentation skills Experience developing relationships and building partnerships Capacity to manage various tasks while maintaining task deadlines and multiple competing priorities

This is a Internship employment opportunity with anticipated end date of August 29, 2025 . The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.
