Join our team at the Ministry of Mental Health and Addiction in Alberta, where you'll play a crucial role in developing and implementing Indigenous recovery communities across the province, and helping our ministry reach our goals for mental health and addiction care in Alberta
Responsibilities Includes:
1. Policy and Program Leadership:
Guide the development and implementation of Indigenous recovery communities, including construction, commissioning and operational planning. Ensure adherence to grant terms and ministry requirements. Align policies with Indigenous and non-Indigenous recovery community programs. Provide regular updates to senior leaders on project progress and policy decisions.2. Grant and Contract Management:
Manage funding allocations for Indigenous partners and community agencies. Ensure compliance with grant agreements and address challenges. Prepare updates for Ministry leadership on grant progress and outcomes.3. Stakeholder Relationship Management:
Foster relationships with Indigenous Communities and their representatives, as well as other internal and external stakeholders. Participate in cross-ministry committees and stakeholder consultations. Represent Ministry perspectives on national committees for policy development.4. Team Leadership:
Oversee performance management and recruitment for the unit. Coach team members and develop operations plans. Ensure adherence to ministry frameworks and manage resources.5. Unit and Branch Leadership Support:
Provide input on department programs and functions. Create briefings and reports for senior leadership. Collaborate with department staff for program integration. Develop recommendations for program improvement.
