  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to template
  • Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
  • Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces
  • Develop computerized pattern and layout
  • Cut materials using power tools or by hand
  • Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment
  • Fit and join sheet metal parts
  • Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
  • Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal productsEquipment and machinery experience
