The Opportunity:

Scope of the Position

As an Applied HVAC Inside Sales Support Specialist, you'll be the backbone of the Applied sales operations, delivering innovative inside support and an exceptional experience to engineers, contractors, and internal RSL team members. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to excellence in project coordination, customer interaction, and operational support.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promptly respond to inquiries from engineers, contractors, and internal RSL staff.
  • Assist in accurate equipment selections for engineers in timely manner.
  • Analyze incoming drawings & determine project suitability with RSL line card.
  • Conduct detailed project take-offs, support bid preparation, and ensure seamless handoff to the responsible sales personnel.
  • Prepare complete shop drawings and operation & maintenance (O&M) packages.
  • Oversee project management for ongoing jobs, including coordinating deliveries, ensuring shipment accuracy, and resolving any delivery-related issues.
  • Proactively address potential challenges related to delivery schedules and other logistical aspects of equipment supply.
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of industry developments, local codes, and regulations.
  • Monitor market conditions and competitors to strategically position our offerings.
  • Manage project/bid documentation efficiently, from initial selection to project close-out, ensuring everything is organized, current, and accessible using best practices in document control.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings to discuss project status, industry trends, and other relevant topics.
  • Engage with relevant industry trade groups and associations such as ASHRAE, RSES and local construction associations.
  • Responsible for maintaining digital job board for multiple regions and prepare reports for salesforce action items.
  • Undertake additional tasks as needed to support team objectives.

Skills and Experience

  • Exceptional customer service with an aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting HVAC technical drawings and specifications.
  • Possessing a bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent qualifications as an HVAC technologist, would be an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of applied HVAC products and VRF/VRV systems.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Strong understanding of effective sales techniques.
  • Skilled in managing orders, quotes, credits, and backorders through our ERP.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, complemented by active listening skills.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and capable of working seamlessly within a team.
  • Professional demeanor and dedicated to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and familiar with our various manufacturer's selection software suites and PDF editing tools.
