Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our team at Goodyear. As an Electrician, you will play a critical role in supporting the manufacturing process by troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing tire-related manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and Maintain Electrical Systems: Install, inspect, and repair electrical components, including electronic sensors, motors, drives, and PLC systems.
  • Electrical Installation and Repair: Layout, assemble, install, and test electrical fixtures, control equipment, and wiring.
  • Industrial Control Systems: Troubleshoot industrial control systems, including hydraulics, temperature control systems, and chilled water systems.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Perform minor welding tasks, such as fabrication and installing brackets and panel mounts.
  • Conduit Installation and Maintenance: Fit and connect conduit using various tools necessary to layout, cut, thread, and bend.
  • Work with Live Circuits: Work with and around live circuits, making hot taps when required.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Maintain power, lights, and alarms wiring systems, and log or use computerized work order systems for repair and maintenance activities.
  • Interpret Electrical Schematics: Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, sketches, layouts, circuit diagrams, or specifications.
  • Adhere to Safety Standards: Abide by safe work standards, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, and appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), NFPA 70E (Arc flash).
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift heavy materials, climb, stand, squat, bend, and work at heights with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
  • Tools: Must provide basic tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industrial Electrician Experience: Previous experience as an Industrial Manufacturing Electrician with basic knowledge and understanding of machine technology, construction, operation of heavy industrial machinery, and power/control devices.
  • Certifications: Industrial Electrician Journeyman's certificate, 2- or 3-year diploma in Electrical Technology, or Certificate of qualification issued by Emploi Quebec (licence C other than construction).
  • PLC and AC/DC Drive Controls: Experience working with a variety of PLC and AC/DC drive controls, platforms, including but not limited to, Modicon, Siemens, and Rockwell.
  • Adaptability and Teamwork: Desire and willingness to learn and perform across crafts, and ability to work as a team player.
