Job Summary

Siemens Gamesa is seeking a highly skilled Traveling Wind Turbine Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing and reporting on various troubleshooting tasks, turbine inspections, and component repairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and report on troubleshooting tasks, turbine inspections, and component repairs
  • Interface with clients and work with small crews on a regular basis
  • Lead and manage tasks with minimal supervision
  • Travel to locations in the U.S. and/or Canada with no restrictions
  • Inspect drivetrain components and assist in troubleshooting of drivetrain-related issues
  • Test electrical components and systems, as well as mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Perform maintenance on wind turbine equipment, including troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic malfunctions

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a mechanical, electrical, or industrial field
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and diagnostic tools
  • Ability to work within maximum safety guidelines using personal protection equipment
  • Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by safety regulations
  • Must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform job functions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Senvion, SGRE Direct Drive (D3), SG4X 145 experience a plus
  • Certification from a Renewable Energy or Wind Technical Program
  • Hands-on work experience as a Wind Technician on a Wind Farm
  • Relevant work experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, maintenance/troubleshooting in a military, industrial, or automotive industry
