About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our team at SUPER 8 BY WYNDHAM. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building systems and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, including making adjustments and minor repairs.
  • Conduct safety and security checks to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair to maintain the appearance and integrity of our facilities.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Be physically fit and able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and perform tasks that require bending, crouching, and kneeling.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in building maintenance is an asset, but not required.
  • Excellent oral communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and guests.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
  • Dependability and reliability to ensure that tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
Working Conditions
  • Work 35 to 40 hours per week in a regular schedule.
  • Work in a team environment with a focus on collaboration and mutual support.
Language
  • English is the primary language of communication.
