Job Description

Department: Cardiovascular Investigation Unit/Cardiac Catherization Lab (CVIU)
Reports to: Nurse Manager
Hours: Various as required;
Salary: $ $27.46 per hour (start rate in accordance with collective agreement)
Status: Casual
Closing Date: July 11, 2024

As a member of the Cardiovascular Investigation Unit/Cardiac Catherization Lab (CVIU), the principal responsibilities of the INVENTORY AIDE include: stocking supplies in the procedure rooms and other areas in the assigned work space; assisting in the management and replenishment of Direct Order supplies for CVIU; replenishing HLI (Stores), CPD and other ancillary supplies throughout the unit; performing other miscellaneous departmental activities, as required; performing cross-functional duties as assigned and/or required; performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned and/or required.

Qualifications
  • At minimum, completion of high school or recognized equivalent
  • Current certification of Basic Cardiac Life support (BCLS) program
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Outlook and SharePoint
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good time management/organizational skills
  • Good problem identification/problem solving skills
  • Good knowledge of basic medical equipment and supplies an asset
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Ability to perform responsibilities in a professional and courteous manner
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols and practices
  • Knowledge of Emergency Codes an asset
  • Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
