Technical Consultant About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Consultant to join our team at Toronto Hydro. As a Technical Consultant, you will play a key role in implementing processes, systems, and projects that contribute to the efficient technical delivery of maintenance and improvement of our Database infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: • Implement and manage database infrastructure, including Oracle 12c & 19c, to ensure optimal performance and reliability • Migrate and upgrade existing databases to ensure compatibility and efficiency • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely and effective manner • Install and configure new databases to meet business requirements • Provide after-hours database support to ensure minimal disruption to business operations • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity • Ensure compliance with all relevant architecture and security standards • Document Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency Requirements: • Undergraduate degree or College diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline • Minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in Database Administration • Mandatory experience with: + Oracle database administration on Unix (AIX preferred) + Performance tuning and debugging + RMAN, Grid Control, and ASM + Setting up and maintaining Physical/Logical DataGuard + Monitoring and alerting tools such as OEM 19c • Strong communication and technical writing skills • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills • Ability to work collaboratively and manage small projects • Strong drive and commitment to delivering results • Possesses up-to-date knowledge in the profession and industry About Toronto Hydro: Toronto Hydro is a leading provider of electricity distribution services in Toronto.
