Job Title: Communications Officer (Digital Strategies)

Join the Faculty of Public and Global Affairs at Carleton University as a Communications Officer (Digital Strategies) and play a key role in shaping the Faculty's digital communications and marketing efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement integrated digital communications campaigns to promote the Faculty's strategic goals and engage with various stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic communications and marketing advice to the Office of the Dean and units within the Faculty.
  • Act as the Faculty's digital communications resource, providing guidance and training to communications team members.
  • Coordinate the customer relationship management (CRM) system to plan and analyze digital campaigns.
  • Write and proofread content for various stories, social media, promotional, and marketing materials.
  • Supervise the Student Content Creator team and ensure the Faculty maintains graphic and communication standards.
Key Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in developing branding, advertising, and marketing campaigns.
  • Expertise in designing, developing, and implementing digital communication strategies and campaigns.
  • Significant experience in website and social media content creation, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Proficiency in digital layout and graphic design for web, email, and social media.
  • Experience in digital photography, videography, and editing for optimal use on web, email, and social media.
  • Strong understanding of how to communicate effectively on the web and in social media.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Hubspot or similar programs.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Experience supervising or leading a part-time staff team.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism.
Education and Experience:
  • University honours degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or English.
  • 5+ years of related communications, marketing, and digital content creation experience.
  • Experience in creating digital campaigns, capturing and editing photography and videography, and conducting analysis for digital communication strategies.
